OWL
A Brief History
Owl is a band that from its inception has been devoted to playing original music with eclectic roots. Since first forming in Seattle, Washington, circa 1975, Owl has given countless public and private performances throughout the Pacific Northwest, and continues to make music to this day. The original core band members included Gary Croft on acoustic guitar and vocals, Keith Sternberg on electric guitar, Ken Coffman on bass, and Charlie Knowlton on Drums. Most of the songs were written by Gary Croft and Keith Sternberg, with arrangements developed collaboratively by the entire band. Various other members have come and gone, including keyboard players, and most notably Diana Honey on vocals. Today, Charlie performs with a local church group, and Keith is the founder and lead guitar player of the popular rock band Fugitive*.

Clubs where Owl has headlined include Skipper's Tavern, the legendary Rainbow Tavern, Bahamas, The Merchant's Cafe, and many others. Owl has performed live on the local PBS television station KCTS (Channel 9), and on local radio stations, including KZAM and others. Owl performed their song "My Brain has a Mind of its Own" with The Everett Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Stafford Miller.

Owl has shared the stage with several international artists, including Jim Page, Horslips, and John Fahey.

2003 brings a resurgence of Owl. The band plans to make a small number of public appearances, and is currently working on a CD project called "Potentiated Convergence Syndrome," that will feature a selection of classic Owl songs, along with exciting new material.
